SMO-USA, Inc. announces the affiliation with a large Integrated Health Care system to facilitate its clinical research capabilities. The system includes three hospitals with a total of 724 beds and a network of 725 physicians representing all therapeutic areas, including extensive geriatric health services. The system had 39,000 admissions in FY '03, performed 10,000 inpatient and 9,000 outpatient surgeries. There are 8 ICU Units with 73 ICU beds. Additionally, the system has significant cardiovascular assessment and treatment capabilities. There are 7 cardiac catheterization labs as well as 3 open heart surgical suites. Over 90,000 cardiac related procedures were performed in '03. Full range oncology services, including hospice, are also available.

SMO-USA, Inc. announces the affiliation of an 11 office, 45 physician, Primary Care network. SMO-USA, Inc. will provide experienced coordinator staffing as well as ongoing training and education to strengthen the core competencies of the participating investigators and support staff. The unique aspect of this network is the 24 hour hospital coverage provided by physicians within the network, so continuity is maintained throughout the study subject's participation in the study. This network serves as a primary point of contact for patients with all types of medical needs. This allows the physicians to offer a myriad of study opportunities. The network has full laboratory capabilities as well as most diagnostic equipment readily available.

SMO-USA, Inc. announces the addition of a California based Quality Assurance and Site Training coordinator to more efficiently service our sites in the western region of the country.

SMO-USA, Inc. has entered into an agreement to provide site management services to a 22 physician Orthopedic practice. A full spectrum of outpatient, device and surgical services are available through this practice.
